I was looking for some online resources for the AIDS Awareness project I have coming up and realized I needed some multimedia to show the kids. YouTube has just about any video resource you need about any subject. So I found a video about a little girl in Africa and her story on how she is dealing with the epidemic in her family. ( I cried a bit, there were a lot of sad stories to watch before I found that one).
The only problem I had was that while watching the videos, they would stop and go, in which you lose some of the power of the clip. I needed to find a way to download the video so I could play it from the computer.
So off to Google I went and found this site:
http://www.techcrunch.com/get-youtube-movie/
I simply copied and pasted the link of the movie into the field and hit download. The video downloads to your computer, but....you can't play it.
The next step is to download VCL:
http://www.videolan.org/
Here is a different site I found, but have not tested:
http://keepvid.com/
This one is a downloader:

Here is a review of it:

Once you do that, you can play the video without the streaming problems since it is playing right from you computer.
Hope this helps!
Thanks to Laira Reed for this tech tip!!!
